CARD lab members have been leaders and/or active participants in numerous campus organizations, including: - Forging Club - Habitat for Humanity - Society for Women Engineers Undergraduate Chapter Graduate Chapter - Pride in Engineering - Materials Advantage - Engineers Without Borders - Nigerian Student Association - Mechanical and Materials Engineering Graduate Student Association - National Society of Black Engineers

Several students have been Darwin T. Turner scholars.

We have provided CubeCats with support, and volunteered as appraisers for Ohio Kids for Creativity events annually since 2023.

Prof Payton is the campus advisor for the UC Forging Club and has managed a Destination Imagination team annually since 2021.
